First and foremost, we are Opticians, so we can fill eyeglass prescriptions. Also, we repair and refurbish your old eyewear in the way of soldering, gold-plating, plastic polishing, heating up and straightening and installing tiny metal rods to repair cracked or snapped plastic frames. If you saw a cool frame in a movie, we can usually track it down for you and get you set up with amazing vintage specs.
Our antique round specs are primarily 12ct gold filled, and were hand made and many of the vintage plastic frames we sell were made from cellulose acetate, which consists of cotton seed fibers, wood pulp and plastic. This material is very resilient and can be heated up and bent to fit the face. They were made by artisans, not machines on a conveyer belt.
Most modern plastic eyeglasses and sunglasses are made from a low quality injection molded plastic, with fragile cheap alloy hinges. These current "designer" glasses rely on merely the logo to sell themselves instead of the quality of materials, and they do not generally last very long. That’s why we sell the best of the best with our men’s vintage eyewear.
